New In | Summer 2018 Edition

07/14/18

Summer 2018 has been incredibly warm and I guess that has to be one of the reasons why so many stores had just crazy sales since the beginning of June?! Most of these products were purchased in June and July, but some of them were purchased earlier, too. I really tried to control myself, but as you can see, it wasn’t easy. At least I purchased 90% of these products on sale. :)

Unfortunately, most of the makeup products are actually being discontinued so there isn’t any point in writing anything too much in detail, but I will still post swatches in a separate post. Especially of these gorgeous creamy eyeshadows that I got! I’m not sure what is going on, but I’ve been totally into creamy eyeshadows and I keep using only them on my eyelids. They are so easy to apply and blend, and even if they don’t look perfect, they look good anyway. I’ve been using primarily KICKS Cream Eye Colours (in tubes) and I’m said they will no longer be available. I have the feeling like I’m always late to the party and like I always buy things once they are being discontinued. :D H&M is also discontinuing some cream eyeshadows – colour essence eye cream, to be more precise – and I think’s that’s a shame too. They are removing two most interesting shades – Gentlewoman (dark plum) and The New Noir (greyish black). At the moment they only have mostly nude and champagne shades plus one olive shade. Hopefully they will come out with more (new) shades?

Another product I like a lot are IsaDora’s Twist-Up Matt Lips. IsaDora has certain permanent shades, but occasionally they come out with LE shades, like these that you can see on my photos. I purchased them anyway because they were indeed affordable, but the more important thing is that these lip products are indeed excellent! Especially for the price and when compared to some other, more expensive products out there. They often have similar shades in their range so you’re not missing a lot by not getting these, but if you can get them – definitely do, you won’t be sorry.

Another discontinued product is my favourite nail polish by Idun Minerals in the shade Ametrin. I don’t know why on earth would they discontinue this particular shade (because it’s stunning and looks amazing for days!), but since that’s the case, I was sure to get all the bottles I could find (3 of them at my local pharmacy). They might come out with an even better shade?!

Last two makeup items I got here are Tarte Tartelette Tease eyeshadow palette and Becca Cosmetics Amethyst Flashes Geode (that I forgot to open ha ha). Tarte was a gift from a friend, never tried anything from them and I already swatched this palette. I might play with it tomorrow or on Monday. Becca was purchased this week. It was on 50% sale and I figured it won’t be such a loss if I don’t like it a lot, but I think I might like it, especially as an eye product. Will play with it this week!

And, finally, I got some skincare as well. Recently I purchased a few Skintegra products. These were all launced not that long ago and I was actually waiting on Superbac to finally purchase everything I wanted to try. Some of my reviews will be coming up this week since I’ve been using some of their products since September last year.

I also got my first The Ordinary products. TO is available everywhere here in Sweden, at least it feels like it (they are available at h&m stores, Åhléns, Lyko and probably some other retailers, too. I got the products at my nearest h&m store.

Lastly, I got The Body Shop Moringa set at Åhléns about 2 or 3 months back. This is actually my favourite summer range from TBS and I urge you to try it! I love the whole range and I’m happy I get to use it again during the summer!

Seems like it took me forever to write this new in post, but I think I just need to get back into writing new blog posts. I’ve written down my plan for the week and I hope I’ll keep up with it!

New In | October Edition

10/30/17

I did some shopping in October and here’s what I got!

ecotools Finishing Kabuki & Perfecting Blender Duo – I wanted to try these sponges for quite some time and since they were on sale, I decided to purchase them and to see if they are any good. They are drying at the moment but I’ll be testing them tomorrow. Another thing I got is this big finishing kabuki. Kabuki brush is probably one of the first ones I purchased 10+ years ago (I’ve been using a flat kabuki since forever) and that’s why I wanted to buy one that’s even larger because I wanted a brush that I can use on my body and larger areas :) This one feels really soft, as is the case with all ecotools brushes, but I’ll see how well it works.

H&M Fluid Hues Eye Colour in shades Mulberry Mist and Vintage Tulle – this launched recently and it caught my eye when I was buying ecotools kabuki and sponges. The reason I decided to purchase these two shades is because these aren’t typical creamy eyeshadows. These actually dry down completely and then they stay put! Looking forward to using them on my eyelids. Hopefully they will come out with more colors since half of the colors were quite similar.

IsDora Twist-Up Matt Lips in shade 67 Dark Velvet – IsaDora has some great lip products and I never miss an opportunity to buying it on sale. This one was 70% off – a bargain! Not to mention how perfect this shade is for winter!

Make Up Store Mixing Liquid – I’ve been looking for this product since probably last year, but it was always sold out! Finally I came across it a few weeks back and purchased it as soon as I saw it! I was surprised it contained 30ml, because usually this type of product contain less than 10ml. It was a pleasant surprise. Already used it, works great!

estelle & thild Biomineral Silky Eyeshadow in Marble – this brand came out with their own makeup range not that long ago and I’ve been checking out the shade Marble ever since! It’s actually a really interesting shade, I swatched it (scroll down). It’s really hard to capture it because it’s so multidimensional, but I hope you get at least a tiny glimpse of how beautiful it is.

Green Girl Vitamin C Serum & Hydrating Serum Light – a while back Green Girl launched a new website with three completely new products. I immediately ordered Vitamin C and Light serums. I’ve been using her products for years and I have only positive comments for them. For now, she only has three products and doesn’t ship outside Croatia, but I hope that will change in the future. All her products are both cruelty free & vegan which is another reason why I love this brand!

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Scrub, Hand Creme and Shower Gel – this is my favourite range from TBS and, as it usually is, it’s being discontinued in Sweden :( Apparently they won’t carry this range any longer, just occassionaly when they have some special deals. Since everything was already 50% off, I decided to grab these 3 products.

New In | Anastasia Beverly Hills, Idun Minerals, Kat Von D ♥

03/26/17

 photo mars-01_zpsiejy7fcy.jpg

I had some really stressful weeks and I just got to a point where I needed to treat myself because, well, I deserved it! Not to mention I passed a few exams as well (in Swedish, woohoo!). So, yesterday I finally had a walk in the city, some good coffee and a lunch, and on top of that I checked what is new in the make up world. Ever since my lectures at the university started I feel like I don’t have much time for anything on the side, so yesterday was like a breath of fresh air.

My first stop was KICKS where I noticed the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. This product has been on my mind for months and I’ve been resisting it ever since it was launched. But a few nights ago I had a dream about how I was buying it online, and well, that was it, I just took that as a sign. The rest is history. :D I wasn’t really aware it was available in the store so I was surprised when I saw it, but I’m glad I got to test it before purchasing it. It really is a great palette with excellent pigmentation and interesting shades.
Price: 545 SEK (€55)

Another product I purchased while I was at KICKS was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer in shade 0.75. It wasn’t a planned purchased but I’ve been looking at concealers for a while now and couldn’t decide what to get so I grabbed this one after reading mostly positive reviews. Shade 0.75 is a cool shade with pink undertones, the product is quite thick in texture but it does blend nicely. More on this concealer soon! And since I purchased two ABH products, I got Beauty Genius Clear Waterproof Gel as a gift with purchase and some DipBrow Pomade samples. Beauty Genius is a clear gel which can be used with any products so I’m looking forward to trying it!
Price (concealer): 249 SEK (€29)

Next, I got new nail polish shades from Idun Minerals! There was a 3 for 2 offer on all Idun Minerals products in a pharmacy that carries their products and I got Marmor, Granit and Ametrin. Ever since I switches to cruelty free products, I tried to find certain shades that would replace my non-cruelty free nail polishes, and a lot of those shades I managed to find among IsaDora’s and Idun Minerals’ shades. These are easy to apply, they are 5-free and long lasting (5 days on my nails without any special tricks). I’m already wearing shade Ametrin which is a shade from their spring collection – a lovely creamy pastel  lilac. One of my all time favourite shades when it comes to nail polish! ♥
Price: 95 SEK (€10)

And, the last product I got is the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in shade Bauhau5! I wasn’t going to buy another liquid lipstick, but this shade is so, so, so special that I just had to! Not to mention that my husband loves it as well and he helped me to decided which shade to get :D More photos/swatches soon!
Price: 215 SEK (€22)

New In | Herman Black Tara ♥

03/12/17

 photo herman00_zpsoinktfbo.jpg

Herman Design is probably one of my favourite brands when it comes to bags. In case you haven’t heard of the brand, let me tell you a bit more about it. Herman Design is a small, privately owned business located in Zagreb, Croatia.  Kornelija Herman, designer behind the brand, describes their products as “… a desirable mix of grunge, punk and rock combining an eclectic synthesis of the modern and retro.” All products are handmade and they can be made in genuine or faux leather. Since the products are handmade, you will have to wait a bit before you receive your bag, but trust me, it is worth the wait. ♥

Now, back to Black Tara. The reason I ordered it is because I actually wanted a new backpack, but as it turns out, this is actually a 2 in 1 product – it can be both a bag and a backpack! You basically get two products for the price of one. How cool is that? Of course, the fact that it is black had nothing to do with my choice ;) Once I placed my ordered and paid for it, I just had to wait. It took several weeks, but I really don’t mind since I know this is a handmade item and that it takes some time (they do tell you how long it will take for them to process your order). It took max. 10 days for it to get into my hands once it was shipped (I had a tracking number). And well, once I opened my package I have to say all my expectations were, once again, exceeded. I say once again because this isn’t my first order from Herman Design.

What can I say about the bag itself? Well, if there is perfection then this is it. It is beautifully made, every piece fits perfectly and one of the things I really liked – it comes in its own box! Anyway, take a look at my photos and hopefully I will show you soon how it looks in action!
