Sorry for not being active (life does take priority) but here are a few random photos of Stockholm as an ‘apology’. :) It’s so obvious that spring is really close and I can almost feel it. I can only imagine how gorgeous it will be! ♥

There are many lovely Swedish traditions, but let me introduce you to one that really got my attention when I first heard about it – FIKA (pronounced fee-ka). As far as I understood, you can say that fika is a coffee break, but it’s actually much more than just a coffee break. The reason it’s more than just a coffee break is the fact that it’s considered as something really important to Swedes and they take it really seriously. So seriously that there’s actually scheduled time for fika at many (most?) work places since it’s considered to be productive part of the day. Also, the word fika is both a noun and a verb.
Fika can happen at any time of the day and besides coffee there are also accompanying treats like muffins, sweats, breads, cookies, cakes… You can fika not only with your colleagues at work, but also with your family members or friends at home or cafe.
I actually like the fact that you can simply take a pause in the middle of the day to enjoy and socialize a bit with other people without it being considered as laziness or unproductiveness (at least when it comes to work). :)
So, how do you like fika? :)

If you’re following my Instagram account (link) then I’m sure you know how much I love smoothies! Today I was inspired to try something new so I made a smoothie with beetroot. That’s actually one of my favorite vegetable and I could eat it as main course every day! :D
INGREDIENTS (super simple!):
I usually add a tsp of maca powder but completely forgot this time. Anyway, I really liked this smoothie because it did taste like beetroot but less intense. :)
Enjoy!
p.s. I love these black and white paper straws that I got at Granit store!

Today I’m sharing with you a lovely and simple breakfast idea (I don’t think it can get easier than this?)! This is actually one of my favorite breakfasts which can easily be a delicious dessert for you and your guests as well. There isn’t really a recipe here because the ingredients are already ready and you just need to layer them together!
Since I love berries I usually use them but, you can easily use anything else you love. :)
INGREDIENTS:
I like to layer these in the order mentioned above. :)
And here’s how it looks like!
Hope you like this as much as I do! :)

Yesterday I came across a lovely store on Folkungagatan, Södermalm in Stockholm called STANK STOCKHOLM. They allowed me to take a few photos and I do apologize since these were taken with my cell phone (I didn’t plan on taking any photos so I didn’t have my camera with me :/ ).
The thing that I like about Swedish stores is how many stores don’t sell only one type of product. One store often sells different products like clothing and makeup, home decor and some sort of skin care, random stuff and food, etc. STANK STOCKHOLM, for example, offers lovely home decor items and clothing. I like how it looks and feels so warm and cozy inside. :) ♥ Makes me wanna buy everything! :D
Anyway, here are a few snapshots I took so you could get an idea how it looks like. :)
Since I couldn’t leave without buying anything I got something really simple: lovely mini vases. They’re still empty but won’t be for long. I have to add that at the moment I don’t buy larger items since our current accommodation is only temporary. Once we move somewhere permanently I’ll start with home decor properly :)
